Well it's come to that time of year again, which has gone by much too quickly for me.
As I try to clear up some of the lingering paperwork which sits in a pile of "I'll work on that tomorrow", I also want to start the near year with a clean slate and a list of goals I would like to accomplish for 2012.
But to have a good finish for 2011, I want to leave it feeling and looking good. This year, we at The Montana Group, have decided to give back to the community as a group. We are sponsoring a family of three in need, along with a senior lady that lives alone. All this is being done through York Region Media Group's annual Santa Fund: Help-families-through-santa-fund.
And for those of you who would also like to help by donating in your community or country there is CanadaHelps.org. You can chose from over 80,000 registered charities and receive your official tax receipt for each donation instantly.
My Client in Focus this time is Suzanne Sideris, owner and artistic director of Becoming Hair Studio. I've known Suzanne for a number of years as her personal tax preparer, and her applying her skills to my ever changing head of hair. Suzanne is a generous soul, whether through donating her time, hairdressing skills of herself and her staff, and fundraising items with an open heart and mind. Her community involvement grows along with her entrepreneurial skills.
So as we leave 2011, I feel good by what we give to our community and look good by associating myself with one of the nicest people you could ever meet.

Becoming is involved in a number of community activities and causes. Donations of time and/or funding include Doane House Hospice, the Women's Centre of York Region, and the Southlake Hospital Gala. Suzanne has also contributed to many local schools, hockey teams, and local dance schools. "We enjoy giving back to our community," says Suzanne.

'Dropbox' for Sharing

I was recently introduced to Dropbox by an accounting firm I was working with. We needed to exchange very large QuickBooksTM files that couldn't go through the normal email attachment process. Security was also a priority. You can exchange up to 2GB FREE. Folders can be set-up with family, friends and teammates.
Share information, videos and photo galleries by invitation. It's compatible with most operating systems and can also be used with mobile devices. And you can access your information from anywhere.
